Simple and Flavorful Nasi
Nasi, a staple in many Southeast Asian cuisines, is a versatile and flavorful dish that can be enjoyed any time of the day. This simple recipe uses basic ingredients to create a delightful meal that’s both satisfying and easy to make. Perfect for a quick dinner or as a side dish, this nasi recipe is sure to be a hit.
Ingredients:
– 300g rice
– Sesame oil
– 1 leek, finely chopped
– 2 or 3 eggs, beaten
– 150g sliced ham, cut into small pieces
– Vetsin (MSG), to taste, about 1 teaspoon
– Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Cook the rice according to package instructions. Once cooked, set aside to cool slightly.
2. In a large skillet or wok, sauté the chopped leek over medium heat until it’s soft and translucent using sesams oil.
3. Add the beaten eggs to the skillet with the leek. Stir continuously until the eggs are fully cooked and scrambled.
4. Add the sliced ham to the mixture and cook for an additional few minutes until the ham is heated through.
5. Stir in the cooked rice, and mix well with the other ingredients in the skillet.
6. Season with vetsin, more sesame oil, salt, and pepper to taste. Cook for a few more minutes, stirring occasionally, until everything is well combined and heated through.
7. Serve hot as a main dish or a side. Enjoy your homemade Nasi!
